Meaning of the lyrics:
vr̥ndāvana kuñja bhavana
nācata giradhārī
In the bowers of Vr^ndAvanam,
the GiridhAri (Lord Kr^shNa) dances.
dhara dhara muralī adhara
bhara bhara svara madhura madhura
He holds His flute against His lips and
He fills it with sweet notes of music.
kara kara naṭavara
svararūpa sundara sukhakārī
The naTavara (the Best Dancer)
creates bliss in the form of music.
ghana ghana ghana bajata tāla,
ṭhuma ṭhuma ṭhuma chalata chāla
The clouds are creating the rhythmic accompaniment,
while He makes vigorous dance movements.
caraṇana chana
chanananāna
nūpura dhvani pyārī
His feet make endearing "chhana chhana" sounds
using the anklets worn by the Dancer.
dhīrē dhīrē dhīrē
karata gāna,
phira phira phira
lēta tāna
He sings slowly and then takes
taana-s (melodic movements) that turn and turn.
mila mila mila
racata rāsa,
saṅga gōpa nārī
Joining Him the Gopa girls create Raasa dance
vadha vadha vadha vadhana candhra,
ham̐sa ham̐sa ham̐sa sahasra mandha
Their moon-like faces sings poems,
and they all smile a thousand smiles.
brahmānandha
nandha-nandhana
madhana mōhana
giridhārī
